She holds a PhD in Law from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. Stephanie Victoria Ascencio Serrato is a Research Associate at the Tarragona Centre for Environmental Law Studies (CEDAT), Rovira i Virgili University (URV-Tarragona, Spain). Her main research interests are climate change law, environmental and climate justice and ecosocial education from an ecofeminism perspective. She currently works as a technic in the research group Territory, Citizenship and Sustainability and as a manager of the project Impact of the Barnahus model on protecting the rights of children victims of sexual abuse in the criminal justice system. She is an activist in the social movement the Alliance Against Energy Poverty (APE), having experience in political advocacy and social mobilization on issues of human rights protection and the environment. Moreover, she is also a member of the NGO Engineering Without Borders in Catalonia (ESF-Catalonia), which develops international cooperation projects, mainly addressed to the education for sustainability and the promotion of universal access to essential water and energy supplies as human rights in the North and South global.
