Abstract

In the educational context, the transmission of scientific evidence to the classroom is essential to improve the quality of education and to develop effective research-based practices. However, in the interplay between teachers, researchers, political and educational institutions, there are a number of barriers that hinder this transmission. According to several studies, these difficulties arise from the lack of teacher training, work overload, the difficulty of accessing scientific articles, the existence of unethical behaviour and the instability of the Spanish educational system.Approaching the teaching reality with the will to strengthen this link will allow making proposals that will have a significant impact on their teaching practices. Thus, the objective of this work is to design and validate a questionnaire that measures self-perception on the use of scientific knowledge in teaching practice. This tool, intended for future teachers and active teachers, will allow the collection of perceptions on barriers and facilitators for the implementation of scientific evidence in the classroom. Based on a quantitative research approach, the content of the questionnaire was validated by means of an expert judgment. Then, a pilot test was carried out with the participation of 278 future teachers of the Master's Degree in Teacher Training of 4 Catalan universities. Finally, an analysis of reliability and construct validity was carried out by means of an Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA).The result has been the validation of a tool that will allow a more detailed understanding of the phenomenon of barriers between educational scientific evidence and teachers. This will facilitate the detection of strengthening pathways between educational research and classroom practices, promoting a more effective implementation of scientific evidence that will result in a continuous, more effective and more efficient improvement of education.

Bibliometric impact. Analysis of the contribution and dissemination channel

The work has been published in the journal NAER: Journal of new approaches in educational research due to its progression and the good impact it has achieved in recent years, according to the agency WoS (JCR), it has become a reference in its field. In the year of publication of the work, 2025, it was in position 27/762, thus managing to position itself as a Q1 (Primer Cuartil), in the category Education & Educational Research. Notably, the journal is positioned above the 90th percentile.

Independientemente del impacto esperado determinado por el canal de difusión, es importante destacar el impacto real observado de la propia aportación.

Impact and social visibility

From the perspective of influence or social adoption, and based on metrics associated with mentions and interactions provided by agencies specializing in calculating the so-called "Alternative or Social Metrics," we can highlight as of 2026-04-05:

  • The use, from an academic perspective evidenced by the Altmetric agency indicator referring to aggregations made by the personal bibliographic manager Mendeley, gives us a total of: 49.
  • The use of this contribution in bookmarks, code forks, additions to favorite lists for recurrent reading, as well as general views, indicates that someone is using the publication as a basis for their current work. This may be a notable indicator of future more formal and academic citations. This claim is supported by the result of the "Capture" indicator, which yields a total of: 49 (PlumX).

With a more dissemination-oriented intent and targeting more general audiences, we can observe other more global scores such as:

  • The Total Score from Altmetric: 2.
  • The number of mentions on the social network X (formerly Twitter): 2 (Altmetric).

It is essential to present evidence supporting full alignment with institutional principles and guidelines on Open Science and the Conservation and Dissemination of Intellectual Heritage. A clear example of this is:

  • The work has been submitted to a journal whose editorial policy allows open Open Access publication.
  • Assignment of a Handle/URN as an identifier within the deposit in the Institutional Repository: http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.11797/imarina9456679
